The Allen Police Department has confirmed that nine people were killed in a shooting at the Allen Premium Outlets in Texas at 9:00 pm, 6th May 2023 . Seven people, including the suspected gunman, died at the scene, while two others died later in hospital. As of Saturday evening, three victims were in critical condition and four were stable.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunman fired indiscriminately at passers-by, causing hundreds of people to evacuate the mall. Police believe that the shooter acted alone and have asked the public to come forward with any video footage of the incident.
In a statement, Texas Governor Greg Abbott described the shooting as an “unspeakable tragedy” and pledged to offer any assistance to local authorities. Republican lawmakers in Texas have faced criticism for their loose gun laws, which allow most adults aged 21 or over to carry a handgun without a license.

Allen Mayor Ken Fulk expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and praised the quick response of the police and fire departments. He also thanked other law enforcement agencies for their assistance at the scene.
