Update: Atlanta Police Department Arrests Suspect in Northside Hospital Shooting
The Atlanta Police Department has announced that they have arrested the suspect in the shooting that took place at Northside Hospital Medical in Midtown Atlanta on Tuesday. The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Deion Patterson, who was taken into custody without incident.
The shooting left one person dead and four others injured, all women ranging in age from 25 to 71 years old. According to police reports, Patterson entered the hospital and began shooting at a group of women before fleeing the building and carjacking a nearby vehicle.
Authorities had launched an extensive manhunt for Patterson, and there were active leads in Cobb County and the city of Atlanta. The arrest was made possible thanks to the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Atlanta Police Department, the FBI, and the Georgia State Patrol.
